How do I get rid of this neck pain and headache?
For the past few days I have been suffering from upper neck pains on the right side and this annoying headache. I first thought it was to do with “the monthly thing” but those headaches usually go away with sleep. This one wont. Then i thought it could be my pillow so i switched it and last night it was fine. But tonight the pain is back. Its driving me insane! Does anyone have any ideas how to get rid of both the neck pain and the headache and fast???? It hurts!!!

It sounds like it could be a bad tension headache…I get really bad migraines (last a week or better) and my saving grace is excedrine migraine. I know they make one for tension headaches; you might try that. PS I weigh 140ish and i can only handle like 1 pill at a time.

Go to the doctor.

Sorry to hear that you are suffering from a headache and neck pain. I have a few suggestions to help you:
1) Ice your neck- this will help to reduce inflammation and give you some pain relief in your neck. Ice can be very soothing by providing an analgesic effect.
2) Neck Excercises will help to loosen up the neck muscles and increase your range of motion.
3) There is a newer product called the Halo Rejuvenator – that is made specifically for headache sufferers. The Halo works by increasing the blood supply to the affected areas (to the head and neck), strengthening the neck muscles and naturally enhancing spinal alignment. Check it out here: http://www.arc4life.com/site/615058/product/HaloPxReliever
4)Finally, get youself a good cervical neck pillow- this is very important for making sure that your head and neck are aligned properly when you are sleeping at night.
Good luck I hope this helps you out-

Hi There, I can sympathise with you. I have had this trouble for years! Now quite intense! You may have to think back and do some research for yourself first – any incidents which happened in your childhood. I fell out of a 30 ft tree at age 11…. and I rmember my lovely sister jumping off one end of a seesaw and the end I ws on banging to the ground! Many years later my neck and headaches seem to relate to that… why? because although the impact was on my tail bone, the last point of exit at such is right up my spine to my cervical spine. I have had x-rays taken and I have loss of padding between my 3 and 4th vertibrae… causing stiffness and discomfort…. nothing you can do to get that padding back however I see a registered sports maseur and he gently moves my head from side to side to keep my neck supple… he also works on my whole back massagine vertibraes.. and it works! I come out of there headache and neck ache free! Another contributing factor could be your eyes…… your optic points are right at the base of your skull top of your neck, if you havent had your eyes checked for a few years this could be a good idea.
Hope this helps………. by the way a chiropractor or Osteopath could be useful for you, for me the clicking and cracking only increased the intensity of my headache, hence the massage works wonderfully for lme! Good luck!
