Yes doctors can prescribe some analgesics to control the pain. But they will have to do some series of test to correctly diagnose you.
Arthritis is a group of systemic disease. You might want to know which one you have. Since your young, it could be JRA, but you can never be too sure. Go consult your doctor.
And before taking OTC analgesics, read the dosage, action, side effects and contraidications or precautions.

I`m sorry that your having trouble with arthritis at such a young age.
The doctors will either put you on ibuprophen or something even more heavy duty, depending on how severe it is. Both are very hard on your liver!
There are “ALL NATURAL” anti-inflamatory remedies out there. The doctors won`t tell you about them because they only support the “DRUG COMPANIES”.
The one that I use is a product made by New Chapter called Zyflamend. It is ALL natural. It is a anti-inflamatory natures way.
The dosage is 2 gel pills a day, one in the morning and one at night for the first two weeks, then if your simptoms have decreased, cut it back to 1 pill a day. Your body will tell you. I also take 2 if I know I`m going to be more active than normal.
The most important thing is that you drink plenty of water, 8 oz. with each dosage, and EAT. After you read the ingredients you`ll see why. It`s like eating 10 pumpkin pies.
Glucosimine is over rated, chondroitin gives you gas, try these out. You won`t be disapointed.
I hope this helps.

The first thing they need to do is run tests to find out what kind of arthritis you have and if that is even what it is. They will prescribe meds based on what they find. Make an appointment with your doc to get this checked out and diagnosed. Until you get seen by the doc take 600-800mg of ibuprofen 3 times a day or take two over the counter naproxen 3 times a day to control the pain.
