Lower back pain?

I hurt my lower back about 3 years ago pitching for fastpitch softball. I have seen 3 different doctors and I endured physical therapy for about 2 years, had 2 epidural shots, and recently had radiofrequency done. The radiofrenquency helped for about a week but the pain came back. Nothing has worked and I don’t know if I should go to a different doctor (I am currently at a chronic pain relief center) or just let my doctor try everything and anything to get rid of my pain. I am 18 years old and hope that I will not have to live with this pain for the rest of my life. I have no clue what to do.
I had PT for a total of about 2 years with a few breaks in between for a few weeks. It was at the same clinic but with three different therapists.
I had PT for a total of about 2 years with a few breaks in between for a few weeks. It was at the same clinic but with three different therapists. My therapy was mostly strengthening exercises. One PT thought I just had weakened back muscles. Another one said it was because I am hyperextensive. I did a lot of the same exercises with the first two PTs. The last one said it was because the muscles in my hips don’t ’shoot off’ in the correct order.

I Cannot Fall Asleep at Night – Why a Good Night’s Sleep should be a Priority

imageIn today’s hectic and competitive world many people have relegated little priority to getting a good night’s sleep – believing that using every waking moment to work or learn is far more productive and important. The problem with that philosophy is that you are not giving your body enough time to rest and heal because shorter hours of sleep means a lesser quality of sleep. It is important not only to fall asleep easily, but to maintain sleep long enough (7-8 hours) so that you can reach that all important part of sleep known as REM. During the night we cycle through 5 stages of sleep with each cycle lasting about 90 minutes. We need to sleep long enough to go through these cycles 4-6 times a night because, with each cycle the REM portion gets longer and, it is during that portion of sleep, that we have our deepest and most restful sleep and when our body is able to repair and heal itself which is so important to maintaining a strong immune system. REM sleep is also associated with dreaming because it is marked by intense brain activity. That’s how you can tell if you achieve REM sleep and have therefore slept sufficient hours. During REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep breathing is more rapid, irregular and shallow, eyes move in different directions and muscles become temporarily paralyzed. It is believed that during this final stage the regions of the brain used for thinking, learning (banking the day’s memories) and organizing information are stimulated (like when a computer is re-booted). If you cannot sleep without constantly waking then you are not getting good sleep and you feel it in the morning and all during your day. It’s more important to sleep than to stay up late studying or preparing for a business meeting.Everything should be given its proper time so that you can function at your peak but also maintain a balance in you life.  Read more about good sleep hygiene and how to correct sleep problems at: http://www.TheSleepGenie.com

Flu Shot — Causes Terrible Disease

www.ipnetworksllc.com Swine influenza (also called swine flu, hog flu, pig flu and sometimes, the swine) is an infection by any one of several types of swine influenza virus. Swine influenza virus (SIV) is any strain of the influenza family of viruses that is endemic in pigs. As of 2009, the known SIV strains include influenza C and the subtypes of influenza A known as H1N1, H1N2, H3N1, H3N2, and H2N3. Swine influenza virus is common throughout pig populations worldwide. Transmission of the virus from pigs to humans is not common and does not always lead to human influenza, often resulting only in the production of antibodies in the blood. If transmission does cause human influenza, it is called zoonotic swine flu. People with regular exposure to pigs are at increased risk of swine flu infection. The meat of an infected animal poses no risk of infection when properly cooked. During the mid-20th century, identification of influenza subtypes became possible, allowing accurate diagnosis of transmission to humans. Since then, only 50 such transmissions have been confirmed. These strains of swine flu rarely pass from human to human. Symptoms of zoonotic swine flu in humans are similar to those of influenza and of influenza-like illness in general, namely chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort.

Any idea on headache pain when I wake up after sleeping? Right behind left eye and left portion of forehead?

It is piercing, burning pain. I have gotten it a bit during the day a few times, but this happens primarily after sleeping, even if only for an hour or so. Anybody have any idea about what kind of headache this could be or what could help?

The Divided Mind (4-5) Fibromyalgia Pain Treatment – The Epidemic of Mindbody Disorders

Audiobook for $7.49: cli.gs “Dr. Sarno brilliantly explores the chasm between the conscious and unconscious minds, where psychosomatic ailments originate.” (Mehmet Oz, MD, co-author of You: The Owner’s Manual) Publisher’s Summary The Divided Mind is the crowning achievement of Dr. John E. Sarno’s long and successful career as a groundbreaking medical pioneer. While his earlier books dealt almost exclusively with musculoskeletal pain disorders, here Dr. Sarno addresses the entire spectrum of psychosomatic (mind-body) disorders. In Dr. Sarno’s view, the crucial interaction between the reasonable, rational, ethical, moral conscious mind and the repressed feelings of emotional pain, hurt, sadness, and anger characteristic of the unconscious mind is the basis for many mind-body disorders. The Divided Mind traces the history of psychosomatic medicine, including Freud’s crucial role as well as his failures. Most important, it describes the psychology of the human condition that is responsible for the broad range of psychosomatic illness. Dr. Sarno believes that the failure of medicine’s practitioners to recognize and appropriately treat mind-body disorders has produced public health and economic problems of major proportions in the United States. One of the most interesting and important aspects of psychosomatic phenomena is the fact that knowledge and awareness of the process clearly have healing powers. “As far as Dr Sarno and his colleagues are concerned, fibromyalgia is a severe form of TMS, and is best treated like any other form of TMS, ie by providing knowledge and understanding of the true source of the pain. The core of this treatment is a lecture presentation in which Dr. Sarno (or a colleague) leads the patients through a process of realisation of the relationship between emotions and physical symptoms and explains to them the importance of understanding what is going on as the basis for curing many common pain syndromes.” John E. Sarno, MD is Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine, New York University School of Medicine. He has been practicing medicine since 1950. Dr. Sarno is the acclaimed author of Mind Over Back Pain, the #1 New York Times bestseller Healing Back Pain, and the bestselling The Mindbody Prescription. Dr. Sarno lives in New York.
